SMC (Subminiature version C) Connectors with 10-32 threads were developed in the 1960s and available in 50 OHM and 75 OHM impedance.
50 OHM SMC connectors have a good electrical performance from DC to 10GHz.
SMC connectors are available for flexible, conformable and semi-rigid cables. SMC PCB series connectors are feasible for mounting to printed circuit boards employing through-hole soldered, through-hole press-fit and surface mount techniques.
SMC cable mount connectors used to be assembled to cables via solder, crimp and clamp methods.
Normally SMC connectors applications can be found in Base Stations, Automotive, GPS, Telecom Cable Assemblies, Components, Instrumentation PC/LAN, Process Controls, Radio Boards Surge Protection, Test and Measurement Video Systems, etc.
SMB & SMC are similar types but with different coupling systems.
