There are many RF coaxial connectors for wireless applications, here we'll take a look at the common antenna connectors for 3G and 4G dongles, modems and routers
1. SMA-Male Plug
Mating to the SMA-Female connector which's typically on the 3G 4G router, the standard SMA-Male has a hex barrel with a thread on the inside and a pin in the center.
SMA-Male is quite convenient to work with as it can be terminated on various cable sizes from Microcoax, RG174 through RG58 and LMR195 to LMR400.
SMA-Female can be found on the back of many 3G and 4G router devices, it's a very common connector to use where the size of the antenna connector is not critical (i.e. where real estate on the device is not at a premium).
2. CRC9
CRC9 is a common 3G dongle connector with CRC9 female receptacle which's often found on Huawei dongles.
Please note the CRC9 looks very similar to the TS9 connector, they're easy to confuse. A CRC9 to SMA-Female adapter cable is on option to convert a cable terminated in SMA-Male. Alternatively, a CRC9-SMA-Female adapter is also available.
3. TS9
The TS9 connector is very similar to the CRC9. Like the CRC9 it has a pin in the center and a slot in the barrel, but not so deep and visible as CRC9.
Mainly pay attention to distinguish the diameter of the receptacle interface, the CRC9 interface diameter is 2mm, and TS9 interface diameter is 2.5mm.
4. MC-Card
Less common than CRC9 and TS9, but often used on Option products. The MC-Card looks similar to a MCX connector, with a short barrel and a pin the center.
The MC-Card to SMA-Female adapter cable can be used to convert from SMA-Male to MC-Card.
There are also other type of connectors used for 3G 4G wireless applications, such as MS-147, TNC-Male, KMS512,etc., but the connectors above are most commonly used.
